The East-West Oval Diamond Statement Ring
Fine Jewelry | Made to order
A three-carat oval, turned on its side. Set east-west across the finger rather than along it, the stone reads wider, calmer, more deliberate.
The Piece
The band splits below the stone and wraps to either side, cradling the oval where it lies horizontally across the finger. The east-west orientation is the whole idea: it spreads the diamond's length across the hand and gives the ring a low, architectural line. The split shank keeps the weight balanced despite the size of the stone.

Why This Piece
Most large ovals are set north-south, pointing up the finger. Turning this one east-west is a quieter decision that changes everything about how it sits — lower, wider, less about height and more about line.
Designed to Be Lived In
Every Alva piece is made by hand in 14k gold and lab-grown diamonds, and made to order after you place it. It is not set aside for occasions — it is measured by the years of wear ahead of it, not the moment it was bought.
Care
What's good is worn, not kept safe. A softened edge or a faint scratch is not damage; it is evidence of a life lived in it.
| Wearing it | Put it on last, after lotion and perfume have dried. Take it off first, before swimming, heavy exercise, or exposure to household chemicals. |
| Cleaning it | Clean with warm water, mild dish soap, and a soft-bristled brush. Rinse and dry with a soft cloth. Skip ultrasonic cleaners on delicate settings and abrasive polishes altogether. |
| Storing it | Store separately so metal does not scratch metal. |
| Professional care | Have the setting checked once a year. White gold may need replating every few years; yellow and rose gold simply deepen in color instead. |
