The Oval Diamond Wave Ring
Fine Jewelry | Made to order
A single oval diamond, held above a band that curves past itself rather than closing in a simple round. The setting is quiet; the stone is not.
The Piece
The design is built around a single oval. Instead of a plain shank meeting the stone head-on, the band sweeps past the setting in an asymmetrical bypass, giving the ring movement from every angle. The oval sits slightly raised, its length running along the finger. The gold stays deliberately restrained beneath it — present enough to hold the two-carat stone, and no more.

The Diamond
A single oval lab-grown diamond of 2.00 carats sits at the center of the ring, measuring 10.53 by 7.03 millimetres. It is selected in E/F color and VS clarity — near-colorless and eye-clean. Oval brilliance carries light along its length, which is why the stone is set with its axis following the finger.

The Gold
The ring is made in 14k gold, with an approximate gold weight of 4.70 grams. The band is widest where it rises to meet the setting and narrows as it bypasses, keeping the structure light on the hand while holding the oval securely.

Why This Piece
A round band around a solitaire is the expected answer. This is not that. The bypass gives a single stone a sense of motion, so the ring holds interest from the side as much as the top.
Designed to Be Lived In
Every Alva piece is made by hand in 14k gold and lab-grown diamonds, and made to order after you place it. It is not set aside for occasions — it is measured by the years of wear ahead of it, not the moment it was bought.
Care
What's good is worn, not kept safe. A softened edge or a faint scratch is not damage; it is evidence of a life lived in it.
| Wearing it | Put it on last, after lotion and perfume have dried. Take it off first, before swimming, heavy exercise, or exposure to household chemicals. |
| Cleaning it | Clean with warm water, mild dish soap, and a soft-bristled brush. Rinse and dry with a soft cloth. Skip ultrasonic cleaners on delicate settings and abrasive polishes altogether. |
| Storing it | Store separately so metal does not scratch metal. |
| Professional care | Have the setting checked once a year. White gold may need replating every few years; yellow and rose gold simply deepen in color instead. |
