The Reverse Pear Diamond Tennis Necklace
Fine Jewelry | Made to order
Ninety-eight pears, set point outward around the whole necklace. Each stone leans against the next, so the line reads like a row of petals — or flames — around the neck.
The Piece
The pears are prong-set and angled so their points face out and their shoulders overlap, forming a continuous, slightly scalloped line. At sixteen inches it sits close to the throat, twenty-four carats of diamond running the full circle. It is a riviere in the true sense: a river of stones with no break.

The Diamonds
Ninety-eight pear lab-grown diamonds make up the necklace, each measuring 5.50 by 3.50 millimetres and weighing 0.25 carat, for 24.50 carats in total. All are selected in E/F color and VS clarity, so the line reads evenly bright around its length.

The Gold
The necklace is made in 14k gold, with an approximate gold weight of 26.10 grams. The prongs hold each pear at the shoulder, keeping the gold minimal so the stones form an almost unbroken line.

Why This Piece
Round riviere necklaces are common. A pear riviere is harder to set and rarer to see — the shaped stones give the line a direction and a rhythm a row of rounds cannot.
Designed to Be Lived In
Every Alva piece is made by hand in 14k gold and lab-grown diamonds, and made to order after you place it. It is not set aside for occasions — it is measured by the years of wear ahead of it, not the moment it was bought.
Care
What's good is worn, not kept safe. A softened edge or a faint scratch is not damage; it is evidence of a life lived in it.
| Wearing it | Put it on last, after lotion and perfume have dried. Take it off first, before swimming, heavy exercise, or exposure to household chemicals. |
| Cleaning it | Clean with warm water, mild dish soap, and a soft-bristled brush. Rinse and dry with a soft cloth. Skip ultrasonic cleaners on delicate settings and abrasive polishes altogether. |
| Storing it | Store separately so metal does not scratch metal. |
| Professional care | Have the setting checked once a year. White gold may need replating every few years; yellow and rose gold simply deepen in color instead. |
